ALNARP - Department of Landscape Planning
Swedish University of Agriculture (Sweden)
It is a department of the University for the Agriculture. It is involved in studying architecture, the history and organization of gardens and landscape as well as environmental psychology.

Alterra (NL)
It is a research institute linked with the university centre of Wageningen (Netherlands) and it works on the environment. Research is conducted on five issues: eco-system, landscape, water and climate, geology and geo-information. Within these five fields the following issues are given particolar attention: rural development, changes in the climate, eco-system services and biodiversity, risk planning.

IRES - Institute for Research on Environment and Sustainability (Great Britain)
This institute, linked with Newcastle University, carries out research about the environment.

TERCUD - Centro de Estudos do Território, Cultura e Desenvolvimento (Portugal)
This institute, linked with ULHT – Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, carries out research about the environment, physical, cultural and socio-economic.

PARiD – International Research and documentation centre for Landscape
International Research and documentation centre for Landscape, whose head office is located at the faculty of Architecture of the Milan Polytechnic (Department of Architecture Design).
Parid aims at meeting the increasing demand for exchanging information, for collecting original documents and gaining access to them, for specialized competence and research on the landscape issues, with a social focus on the contents and on the implementation of the European Landscape Convention (Florence 2000).
It also promotes and keeps an International Landscape Research Network (Landscape Research Network - LRN).

DITER – Inter-university Territory Department
(Italy)
It is a department working on both the analysis of urban and territorial transformations (including the competition and cooperation dynamics of territorial systems at the various scales), and on the urban, territorial, landscape, environmental planning tools at the various levels of public administration.

University of Florence Doctorate
The doctorate carries out research on landscape design, that is, all the available knowledge (cultural, historical, semantic, methodological, theoretical and technical) that help to build up the culture of the landscape design for the people in charge of designing, planning, restoring and rehabilitating both urban and rural settings and sites.
