About us

PaRID is a International Landscape Research and Documentation Centre.
It works on research and documentation about landscape, particularly concerning the contents and the application of European Landscape Convention (Florence 2000) and Unesco World Heritage Convention (1972) on the cultural landscape
PaRID was officially set up within the Milan Polytechnic (Architectural Projects Department) in January 2006 in order to make skills and information on landscape culture and policies available in the European countries and in Italy.
It has been gathering skills, information, data, information and documents through investigation and consultancy since 1995 at the Milan Polytechnic for use by public institutions (in particular, the Council of Europe, Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities, Lombardy Region, Province of Milan, Italian municipalities )

The website, it is connected as a scientific partner with the Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities.

Aims

PaRID is aimed at helping to meet the growing requirement for exchanging information, collecting original documents and gaining access to them, making use of special skills and research on the Landscape issues with specific reference to the content and to the application of the European Landscape Convention (Florence 2000)

PaRID has also the task to carry out investigation and to provide documentation as well as consultancy and technical-scientific cooperation both for Italian and foreign institutions which at different levels are involved in the various sectors of Landscape policies besides providing all the above services to scholars and specialists.

It is also actively involved in cultural promotion (arranging meetings and seminars and maintaining relations between Italy and foreign countries) and in organizing specialised training courses (teaching activity).

These activities are either promoted by PaRID alone or in cooperation with other active partners.
